The PPC network is again expanding as now Google allows advertisers to include Gmail in their standard shopping campaigns. It will take effect from the week following March 4, and you’ll be able to see the updated settings in Web UI.
Last year, Google already made displaying product shopping and showcase ads possible on Discover and YouTube, now Gmail is not a surprising addition. Prior to this, smart shopping was the only way for advertisers to display their ads on Gmail.
If you are unsure how you can add Gmail, YouTube, and Discover in your ad campaign, follow the steps given below:
- Sign in to Google Ads
- Go to the Campaigns tab, and select the standard Shopping campaign on which you want to add
- Click the Settings tab
- Under the “Networks” option, mark the checkbox next to “YouTube, Gmail and Discover,” and you are done.
If you use Google Ads API to control your ads, ensure that your target Content Network setting is set to true.
Google has already sent an email to all the Google Ads advertisers, conveying the same news. With the addition of Gmail in your shopping ads network, you can expect a slight increase in impressions.
